  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi there. Coming off a Lexus IS 350 F sport lease and looking forward to the G70.
I've got the car on order (Canada), with the knowledge the 2022 may be arriving in Canada early summer, but still prefer the existing sportier styling.
I find the quad lights look great on G80, GV80 etc but more suggest more luxury than sport. That said, in person may look great but couldn't wait lol

1-One thing I've noticed recently on my many trips to the dealer is some fit and finish issues on trunk and hood alignment. I've told the dealer I won't take possession of it if they're off at all as this is a pet peeve of mine, especially for a brand trying to compete with Lexus, BMW, etc for build quality.
Anyone else see this happening more lately than previous years?

2-I do have the AEM intakes on order as well and will be putting those in on day 1.
Any feedback on this mod will be helpful (regarding any noticeable gains, etc) as only a few YouTube videos focus on the updated sound.

3-M&S rear lip spoiler is also on order. Comes unpainted so trying to decide on a carbon fiber wrap versus paint. Again, anyone with one of these on their car that wants to share pics, please do. I only see the same images on every mod site from Korea with it painted white, or flat black, on white.

Should be arriving early next week and will share pics when all updated. ttys

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! :)

Intake and Lip Spoilers have threads available from others who installed. Search around here, and also check out Kia Stinger Forum for a lot more info. Mostly same mods with much larger group of users

The panel gap between the hood and the front and side fenders is known. There's a post here somewhere where someone found the root cause of the issue and fixed it. It's not a quality issue as much as it is a design/tolerance issue with the things that lift the hood. Haven't heard anything about the trunk though.

My trunk was misaligned and although I too am normally a stickler for such things, I didn't notice it until I got home (I drove from Austin to Oklahoma City to get my G70 because I wanted an AWD, and after the arctic weather we've had last week- my street and most of the secondary roads still aren't ploughed- boy am I glad I did!!) In any case the dealer (not the one I bought it from) agreed that there was it off in alignment and re-aligned it under warranty. It's not perfect as it still is wider than my previous Genesis models, but it's better than it was.

As far as recommendations: get a clear bra on at least the front bumper as soon as practically possible. The bumpers on these cars take a beating and I don't know if it's due to soft paint or whatever, but your car will look like it has a lot more miles on it than it does if you don't.

I have never had an alignment issue. However, I do have a slight dent in my trunk. It is like there is no support beam in one spot, and the material sagged a bit. There is not scratches or anything to indicate exterior damage, so I am guessing it got pulled down from the inside. Others have reported similar small dents. Honestly, it really only bothers me after a car wash when the car is its shiniest. That is when I can spot it right away (light reflection is what makes it noticeable). Otherwise, no other exterior problems.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I am also awaiting to take delivery of a Siberian Ice awd 3.3t sport. Should be end of March or very early April.
I also prefer the meaner look of the 21s than the new model. And since I am leasing, the current interest rate is good

Not going to do any mods since its a. Lease but I will check out alignment issues as you mentioned. Thanks
