  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80 Sport
I am currently looking to buy a vehicle for around $20k. I recently found multiple Genesis G80 Sports and immediately fell in love with the car, even test driving one in my city. My question is, how reliable is the 3.3t and the G80 in general after 100k miles? I have found a specific model pretty far from me with 112k, very well priced, and carfax/Bumper found no bad history on the vin. I am really holding back from flying out and buying it immediately, as even with all the research I’ve done, I’m not completely confident about making the purchase without advice from those within the community. Any info helps

I think at 112 for any brand it can run another 50,000 or more without issue or have some. To place the odds
in you favor check to make sure how it was maintained. I am not a mechanic but in my opinion for a car to run 200,000 to 250,000 without a major issue it had to be maintained from 0 to 100,0000 well.

I do not know anyone with a 3.3t g80 over 60,000 miles so the above is the best answer I can provide

What year is the car?

While the motor may have a lot of life left that are a lot of peripherals that might need replacing in the next few years.

How are the brakes and suspension?
Have the spark plugs been changed?
How often was the oil changed?
Has the transmission been serviced?
Etc …
