  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Finally, had to take the Gennie in for a problem. It would not go into park while the brake pedal was depressed. The service writer was well aware of the problem-a $7 switch between brakes and transmission. FWIW, he said Audi and Ford were plagued with the same problem.

Have to say I have been super satisfied with the Genesis. (Yes, I do have the problem with droopy steering wheel, but it is easily reset every few weeks)

There is a for sure fix to the steering wheel now. A module and switch replacement. I think it takes about 1. 5 hours for the warranty service.

I could be wrong... but I think that was common on some Kias and Huyndais. I think there's a little key hole near the shifter. If you pop that open, I think you're able to override the lock.

Again... never happened to me, but I have seen it. And this might not be related at all.

The brake pedal switch failure is common across many Hyundai and Kia platforms. My 2011 Sonata w/keyless had the same issue around 10k miles. Not sure if Hyundai is revising the part or not, but it happens A LOT.

For the keyless guys who have this problem, you should be able to hold down the start button for 30 sec to override the brake switch. However, you'll notice that your brake lights don't work either. I'd press to get the dealer to tow it to save you from possibly being rear ended.
