  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I own a 2015 ultimate 5.0, and i’m struggling to find after market parts any suggestions on where i can find them.

I installed a set of K&N air filters in my 5.0. I usually do not use oiled air filters due to MAF sensor concerns, however the 5.0 uses a MAP sensor so the air filter oil do not affect it or could not affect it.

The HP gains from the K&N filters will be minimal(5-10HP) in theory, but the real world engine response in top end high rpm(over 5k rpm) performance is pretty good; especially when combined with a pedal booster (Sprint Booster or Pedal commander)that reduces the throttle lag.

Here is how the stock paper filters compare to the K&N filters. The K&N filters has more surface area as well as being a higher flowing cotton material, so the engine does receive a nice boost in air flow from the filter swap. However, the stock filters may filter finer dust better; so there could be a trade off in dirt filtration to gain those extra HP from your engine.

I personally have not noticed any extra sand or dirt in my intake tract pass the filters, so if extra dirt is getting pass my K&N filters I have not noticed it when I removed the intake ducts for engine work or bulb changes. Finer dust is probably just blown out the exhaust during combustion.
