  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I bought my car when it had 30,000 miles on it and bought an aftermarket warranty that expired at 82,000 miles. I never had a claim and I now have 85,000 miles on the car and would like to see what another warranty would cost. Any suggestions?

I bought my 2015 3.8 RWD with 98,000+ miles. Bought a bumper to bumper warranty for 5years/50,000 miles at a cost of $3500.00. 7 months later, starter went out and I was able to get the Genesis dealership to replace and it cost me my $100.00 deductible. Quick and easy and no hassle.

Pretty much paid for itself right there.

How much did the bill the warranty company?

Wow! $3,500 for your aftermarket warranty. What was the time or mileage limitations? I think mine was $2,500 and expired at 82k miles.

I get telemarketer calls from auto warranty companies so on occasion, I will waste their time. Told them I had a 2015 Chevy Impala, 45000 miles. Five year 100k warranty would be $3800. The cost of warranty would be roughly 1/3 of the value of the car.

When I bought mine from Carmax they offered 5 years for $1200 which I purchased. Have recouped that with several repairs... warranty still good until June this year.
