  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello Genesis world. I have a 2012 3.8 premium. Best car I have ever owned.
My question are

1. I would like to know if there is a cold air intake kit available for the Sedan? I have only been able to locate them for the Coupe. Is it also worth investing in?

2. I need some advice on installing my Gforce chip. I am having trouble locating the correct wires. Has any one installed this chip into their Genesis?

2012 genesis 3.8l (my car wife is scared of it):)
2010 Santa Fe ( wife's car)
2008 Santa Fe ltd
2007 sonata (wife's car)

2000 Elantra VE

1992 Geo Metro
1993 Lumina Z34 3.4 DOHC

I would also like any other info on aftermarket performance upgrades to enhance my new child.

I live in Toronto Canada so if there are any fellow Canadians on the forum lets here from you.]

Gforce chip installation instructions:

Step 1: Locate trash can

Step 2: Open trash can lid.

Step 3: Lift unopened Gforce box with right hand.

Step 4: Using right hand, position Gforce box over open trash can.

Step 5: Release box from right hand into trash can.

Step 6: Replace lid.

Unfortunately...this is completely accurate....

...there's much debate on this forum (as with most every owner's forum) about perceived advantages of modding the car's intake system. I don't recall ever seeing actual proof (before/after dyno stats, etc), so my position is that preferences for modding the CAI are really based in faith, feel, and coolness factor; and that such do not (by themselves) produce any substantial power worth the outlay of cash or potential for reduced engine life.

Sorry, my statement will possibly reroute this thread, but you had asked!

Throw a supercharger on it, replace the tranny, add some NOS.... Wait, wait, thought we were talking about our old Mustangs...

I truly believe that both mods will benefit performance.

They both increase your power to weight ratio..... by making your wallet lighter. ;)
