  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

All:

I have installed an aftermarket camera on the front grille of my 2015 Genesis sedan 3.8 ultimate to help prevent hitting those pesky concrete parking barriers found in some parking lots. Everything works well (the camera emits a Wi-Fi signal to which I connect my iphone when parking and I can have an unobstructed view in front of me). I connected the wires to the battery positive terminal found under the hood and an unpainted screw. However, last night I became aware that, because the camera is always on and emitting the Wi-Fi signal, I could drain the battery.

What fuse/connection can I tap into (preferably under the hood), so the camera is energized while the car is running, but not when the car engine is off?

Thanks in advance.

Actually I found the power source to the cigarette lighters do the trick. I selected these because they are not energized when the car is off and if there is a problem I would not compromise more sensitive systems.
