  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm looking to eventually replace my stock 7 speaker set up as well as the head unit. Stock just isnt loud enough for my young ears.

I'm curious if anyone else has aftermarket and what they went with.

The OEM speakers are going to be better than anything you're going to find aftermarket, unless you go super high end and spend the big bucks.

But I agree, the stock head unit on the base models is TERRIBLE. One of the worst I have ever seen this side of a tape deck.

My buddy has a base model Corolla from 2002 with role up windows and even that head unit has more features.
the lack of setting is amazing. It doesn't even tell you what song is playing over the radio!
That blue back light is tacky as hell too, it looks like a $20 Casio watch.

I'd love to replace that head unit but I don't want to loose the functionality of the steering wheel buttons Or have it look ugly. :/
