  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Equus (2011-2016)
Took my 2015 Equus (79,000 miles) to dealer for hesitation on acceleration. No codes were found. They want to do an air induction service for $200 +/-. Said should have been done at 60k service, but I can't find it. Anyway, snake oil or something that might fix the hesitation?

What is "air induction service?" If it involves simply changing the engine air filters...not worth it.

No, it is when they spray a cleaner in the throttle body to clean the intake, valves sensors and injectors.

Have the same hesitation mainly around 1500 rpm.. on 2014 equus.. same issue.. no codes given...

They did a reset and has improved a little..

Good luck

2014 Equus. I Sea-foamed into the air intake, not poured into the gas tank. I had the hesitation, or flutter or jerk or vibration in that rpm range. I used about 1/2 can of seafood down the air intake in a location after the various controls and sensors where it can enter the manifold. For me the hesitation is gone, acceleration is smooth.

Guessing it might be the same service you can get at your oil change shop much cheaper But SeaFoam in hard to beat and a lot cheaper
