Air intake or BOV problem?

So im having issues with either the air intake or the blow off valve im not exactly sure but when ever i hit the gas I hear the air being sucked in and when I let go of the gas your suppose to here that whoosh sound but sometimes i'll barely hear it or it kinda sounds like its struggling to release the air. I have a k&n intake system and a forge motorsports BOV any ideas of what it could be? I had a similiar issue a few months back with the solenoid valve but the check engine light doesnt pop up so I dont believe thats the problem.
