  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Front end will not inflate. Do not hear compressor and suspension lift button does nothing. Just says normal height. No warning lights. Suggestions?

What year/miles of your Equus?

Sad to say, but you probably already know it's the air suspension. The Hyundai OEM parts are extremely pricey. There are 3rd party sites that offer replacements like: Hyundai Equus 2009-2016 Front Right OEM REBUILD Suspension Air Spring Bag Strut - Single (546063N517)

Or you can remove the whole air suspension and replace it with a kit like this: 2013 Air Suspension Conversion Kits and Parts - Page 1 - Strutmasters

I bought my Equus in January and it had rear suspension problems. The dealer and I made a deal the replace it with the strutmasters kit. So far so good.

My car only has 50k miles and is a 2014. This issue happened overnight. Hard to believe there would be no preliminary evidence of an issue. I did do a high pressure wash of the wheel wells the night before. Related, I do not know.

If you do not hear the suspension air compressor working, I would start there. Most common issues are with the suspension air bags, but in your case it may be electrical (power to the compressor, bad compressor, bad sensors, fuses). Hyundai dealer service will want to just "replace" versus "fix" as it is faster, the labor and OEM parts markup will make you cross-eyed mad unless you are wealthy. But they do have that GDS system that can read your car like no other.

Did you get any trouble codes? That would help isolate the issue. Usually a car will sink down if it is an air leak in the bags or tubing. An independant high-end (Mercedes, Porsche, Audi) repair shop may be a better option for repair/diagnosis as that kind of shop will have run up against air suspension issues.

I took it in yesterday. They told me I had a bad airbag. $2,650 I do have warranty so it is only costing me $100, but I just cannot believe but that is the problem and they are taking advantage of the extended warranty. Airbags don't just suddenly get a whole big enough that they won't fill. It's a slow process from my past history with airbags and why did I not hear the compressor? I have more questions for the dealer today. Told i will have her back Wednesday afternoon.

Nah. This seems pretty on par with this airbag system. At least you have the warranty!

No codes on the dash or anything I can see wo a diagnostic tool. Might be a good investment for me. Any suggestions there?

Well, I was told there were 2 codes. That is why the pump was not pumping and the raise suspension button was not working. Still doesn't make sence to me that it would just quit when there was never any history of losing air and the front deflating over night. Once!

Ah, thanks for the pic. I thought it was at regular height and would not raise to high height, but I see now you are sunken low. This does indicate a leak and the air bags are the prime suspects. This still doesn't tell us why the compressor isn't trying to raise the car. If it is under warranty, let them have at it, anything they replace will last longer in the future!

I have a 2014 White Equus, right at 50,000 miles, started sinking down in the front today. A video for the rear bags looked to be a DIY. These front ones look more difficult. Has anyone attempted the front suspension?
