  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Airbag recall...what!!!

I took my Genny in about two weeks ago for oil change and they did airbag recall while I waited. Didn't take hardly anytime at all....Don't know what the story was either. I am in the Evansville IN area.

Dataguy and LLT, you were right! This was an extremely simple task with very minor things to figure out. All the info was on the maintenance site. I spent more time picking out the correct Torx head from my tool box and figuring out how to release the airbag electrical connection locks than anything else. I would mirror what you said: I think it took about 20 minutes total, but a second one would take about 10. Thanks.

Shoot, I'm wondering if this why my Airbag System warning light is on? This is the 2nd time it's happen to me. The last time the dealer said this system reported a code error and they reset it. Was fine for a few months, now it came back on.

I bought the car in January and only have 6400 miles on it. Only had one oil change this year. My dealer must hate me. They keep calling me stating my Genny is due for service, I just tell them I only have 6400 miles on the car.

No, the airbag TSB adjusts the firing program to that the airbag deploys sooner so that you don't hit anything when it does go off. The light is indicative of something wrong, so you should take it back to the dealer ASAP.
