  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone! I wanted to share in my excitement, as I am purchasing a 2013 R-Spec this evening, assuming we can negotiate the trade amount I'm looking for on my 2006 Azera. I kept the Azera immaculate and it has only 40,000 miles.

I am very happy with the price that I was able to negotiate for the car and I can't wait to drive off in it! My father refers to it as a beast in a tuxedo!

I have to add, I absolutely love this negotiation. My husband and I both went to test drive it and the dealer was nice, but he focused most of his attention in my husband's direction, as they are both major car enthusiasts. I was the quiet one along for the ride. I also negotiate for a living, so it's been all me since we left the dealership. The salesman told me I left him old and tired! :)

I'm excited to be a part of this forum!

Congrats. My wife and I love our R spec. I get great comments too. Took a while for us as the local dealers would not negotiate. This was supposed to be my retirement hot-rod, but it did not take long for the little woman to take over the car. By the way, what color?:welcome:

I should have let my wife do the negotiating when I bought mine. She is an absolute killer once they get to the numbers game. From now on I won't feed her for a day or two and then I'll send her in to make some salesman's day. :)

Hello and thank you for the warm welcome!

I selected a white one. I think black is gorgeous, but I know how much work that black is to maintain. I'm very pleased with my choice!

I think I am buying at a good time. I used a service available to Consumer Reports subscribers to find the three guaranteed lowest prices in my area. There are some nice incentives right now, also, and my salesman told me they sell twice as many Equus per month than R-Spec (2 Equus, 1 R-Spec).

Also, with the looming re-design, it's about to become a legacy model.

Also, I'm just a giant nuisance. LOL ;)

Congrats and enjoy.

Thanks for sharing!

I believe you will love the car. My wife does, and has become a genuine "Car Person" since we bought it. That will help me when I go for the C7 in its second year of production. :D

Hello genesis owners I am a other future owner, I found some 2012 rspec under 35k new and some used for around 33 to 29k. All under 20, 500 miles. Now im on the fence a bit because I have a 2012 sonata se great condition but only problem is high miles around 75, 000 ; < and I still owe about 18k on the car as well. I know I maybe upside down a few grand. So I guess my question is what did people get for there trade-in's.

Added notes : thinking about making the purchase in November/December
Have 3500 saved up as a down payment so far.
And by that time I maybe almost at 95, 000 miles on my sonata :[ yet a other tradein hit.

You are going to be upside down quite a bit. If you drive 60,000 mi/yr, you should really consider the 3.8 over the r spec.

No offense, but if you only have $3500 down and you are $6000 in the hole on your current car, I would suggest you need to refinance with a much more aggressive payment plan over digging a deeper financial hole.

Ouch-I suspect the dealer will offer you a couple of grand back of wholesale, so your car will book in the 11K range, so I suspect the dealer will offer you in the 9K range. Might try Carmax for an appraisal.

Always good to have a carmax quote in your hand when you go in for a trade.

Good luck with your purchase, and welcome to the boards!

Thank you all for the warm welcome! After some typical dealer nonsense, and two attempts to walk out, I got exactly what I wanted for both the R-Spec and my Azera trade.

It was kind of an ordeal, but it's over and I had the weekend to enjoy my gorgeous new ride! :D

Welcome to the club.
