AM RADIO/HD RADIO poor sound

Have 2012 Genesis Sedan.

XM/FM radio sound is fine. AM sound and AM-HD is horrible. Sound has echo and at times fades in and out.

So far dealer has not solved problem
 
I also noticed poor AM reception with much less range compared to my previous Infiniti FX35.
 
I have very poor AM reception....I don't listen to AM much, darned near not at all but it is curious why the reception is so poor
