  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Was digging through some old CDs and found "Saint Saens symphony no 3 'organ'" (Philadelphia orchestra conducted by Michael Murray. )I've upgraded my lexicon with a 900 watt ken wood amp and a Skar 8" subwoofer. With the volume set to "MAX" I experienced sonic nirvana. Just wanted to pass that along 👏

I don't think I've ever had my Lexicon volume over 14 but the stock system is quite good.

You think that is good!?

You should really try to sample what an Audio DVD sounds like even with the built in subwoofer. ;) (http://hyundai.lexicon.com/hyundai.aspx)

Example:

Or anything else you might like:

I can tell you that the Beatles one sounds exquisite, to say the least... :)

[EDIT] Forgot to mention that I have moved on from DVD-Audio to a Lossless streaming solution, provided by Tidal (https://tidalhifi.com/us/campaign/audio).

The only draw back is you have to connect the phone using iPod connection (ALAC @44.1 kHz / 16 bit = 1411kbps) or 3.5mm for an Android implementation (FLAC) as Bluetooth bandwidth is limited 384kbs.

All I can say, this service/solution does take the Lexicon system in our cars to a whole new level! :p

They have free trial for a month, they are expensive but be forewarned if you are into high end audio and you try it, everything else (ex: XM/HD FM/CDs) will sounds like <r@p!!!

I haven't tried a classical audio dvd. I have one of blue man group that's decemt. But the saint Saens is epic

The wife just showed me a new music service called TIDAL. Its a Hi fidelity loss less music service. Everything sounds phenomenal in the car. Even better with my aftermarket (SQ) sub and amp. Gonna suck when my free trial ends.. Im not paying $20 per month.. I would be willing to pay $10.. but not 20.. :(

Tidal sounds great in the 2015 ultimate Genesis. The sounds has much greater presence and bandwith than any other service when using the lightning USB connector . The only issue is the steering wheel controls with not work at all to change music. It works fine when you use it over Bluetooth but then the audio doesn't sound quite as good. Has anyone come up with a solution to this issue of steering wheel controls not working with tidal?

Earlier threads talk in depth about how Tidal and Spotify couldn't play using a USB connection. I'm guessing that is now resolved? Is Tidal unable to be controlled when connected by USB, or are all music services?

Is the HiFi Tidal sound much better than the high end Spotify sound that comes with their premium service with the new Genesis 17 speaker system?

And finally, can you use Bluelink to play Spotify or Tidal?

I have Spotify Premium and stream at 320kbs and it works on both Bluetooth and USB and sounds amazing. The Stock Lexicon is not the best but since this is a lease I'm not going to be tearing anything out.

I had Tidal a few years ago when it first appeared and the HiFi @ $20 a month was nice but it was overkill in the car and I was unable to hear a $120 per year difference over the 320 of Spotify so I cancelled.

TIdal plays using a USB connection however the steering wheel controls don't work on the USB connection only on Bluetooth. I definitely notice a difference in sound quality which connected through USB. TIdal has more presence depth and bandwidth than other services. My ears can justify the cost difference.

Ya know that is good to hear. Our Lexicons sound descent but I am not overly impressed. It is just something about aftermarket options we have that would sound 10x better. I produce instrumentals and I feel my sounds are muffled in the car versus my studio monitors. The EQ is just basic in our cars as it is. Maybe that is what it could be. I work at a car audio shop part time and there is a brand called AD Design that I am very impressed with. I have to save my allowance to purchase the component sets. Feel that the full sound + deadening the panels will make a huge difference. I plan to build a false floor to house 1 -12 inch sub in case I want to crank it one day also.

:)

Just my $.28 cents
