  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Bah! I just spent six hours moving various non-backupable things from my Google Pixel to a new Google Pixel 2, and now I find it's entirely unrecognized by my 2018 G80 Sport. With the Pixel (1) the car would find the phone when the USB was connected and the phone would ask if that car could be trusted and from then on all was right in the world. With the Pixel 2 (not the XL) the car can't find the phone at all via USB -- it just says plug in USB. I've tried a few different quality cables. Bluetooth is fine, but Android Auto has been a killer feature for me with this car, and I'm going to return the phone if I can't get it to work. Grr!

as far as i know you have to plug in it to the front usb other than that make sure the setting is on in your phone. if neither works then your system is messed up and needs to be taken back to the dealer. also just a friendly reminder to post further questions of your car under the g80 forum.

Hrm, it works great on the one phone, but not the other. I'm not ready to suspect the car yet. 10-4 on the different forum; I thought this covered all infotainment.

Thanks,

Pixel 2 just came out so it might be g80 is not recognizing the new os on your phone. A buddyof mine just got the pixel 2 not too long ago. Next time i see him will ask him to try and connect to my g80.

I'd appreciate that. I returned the pixel2, but I imagine I'll try again when my pixel 1 ages out or breaks.

Hi!
I have the same problem with my Pixel 2. I have Genesis 2016. I think the Pixel 2 is the route cause. Iphone is working like charm!
I have tried different cables recommended by different users on google forum.

No errors found using usb debug mode on Pixel 2. I will try to delete the anti-virus and let you know.

P.S. Activate developer tools and use debug mode: Go to Settings => System => and tap "About Phone" 7 times (you'll see prompts) and Developer options will appear a few slots above in that menu. It's in there under Debugging.

Oof, bummer. Let's hope a pixel 2 update in the future helps.
