  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone gotten the new Android auto update. Apparently it's going to be a big change to the interface. It's starting to roll out, wonder if anyone has any experiences to share with it yet.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I just checked and my last update was a few days ago and I don't have it and it doesn't look available in the play store.

Definitely interested in trying it as soon as it is available. :)

Not yet. AA updated yesterday on my phone but just bug fixes.

Same here, bug fix yesterday but still the old version.

It's Android.... I'm sure the APK is floating around somewhere. Check XDA Developers maybe?

I will. I have a long trip next week and will like to have it on the rental I got.

APK mirror might have it. Anyone know what version is the new one?
They're normally sorted by release date. Just make sure you get the correct dpi one.

I got the new update. It's version 4.5xxx but it won't switch to the new interface unless you delete the app cache and force stop on the app. Reload, go to settings and select "Try the new Android Auto".

So, you may already have it but just need to follow the steps to get the new interface.

I like the look and find it easier to get around and find what I'm looking for. Nice update!

Does it show how crappy the screen resolution is now?
I know with iOS 13 and the new Car Play, it really shows how terribly low res the screen is now!

I hadn't noticed until you mentioned, so I just had a look. I do see what your saying.. it's not high resolution but still pretty decent. If you wouldn't have mentioned it, I would never have noticed.

I think the new icon layout exacerbates it!

Ok so I've downloaded an apk from APK mirror and now the option to try the new Android auto shows up for me. So if anyone else wants it early you can just download APK, it'll work

Thanks. I had to clean data too, not just the cache and it worked.

I force stopped AA, cleared cache, opened AA, went to settings and still see not "Try new AA..." Did I miss a step?

I already posted. In order to work for me I had to clear the data too.

Disregard my above post. I cleared everything and I indeed got the "try it" message. I'll do road test tonight.

thanks!

Ya, sorry. I missed putting in the clear data part. I did have to do that as well.
