  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone else find it stupid and annoying that the G70 comes with a wireless charging pad but NOT wireless android auto? What's the point of having a wireless charging pad if you have to connect it with a cable for android auto anyway? Plenty of non-luxury cheaper cars have this standard, so to me there's no excuse. I ended up buying an adapter from Amazon for this, we'll see how well it works. Reviews for it are positive. Another lesser annoying thing is that you can't see the turn by turn on the heads up display if you are using nav via android auto. You have to use the built-in navigation for that.

I don't think it's annoying or stupid. The G70 platform was co-developed with Stinger, so the basic design dates back to at least 2018. Wireless AA might be more prevalent now, but it wasn't back then. That's just the speed at which technologies like these progress faster than car mfrs can keep up.

I spent less than $100 on Motorola MA1 and I've been very happy with it. It's out of the way and pretty much works as though the car came with AA. In all honestly, I almost prefer it this way. If wireless AA did come OEM, there is a chance the implementation might not work well, in which case I'd be stuck with having to deal with Genesis and having to wait for corporate to update the firmware. We all know Genesis customer service is second to none right? :sneaky: And what happens after warranty expires?

With the aftermarket dongle, at worst the MA1 was a POS and I'd be out less than $100 trying to find a replacement. So far, it's been great!

Who knows... a couple of years later, they might come out with an MA2 Pro that works even better with other new features. I'd rather have that potential upgrade path, than being stuck with OEM.

Besides, two of my other cars have aftermarket head units that both have wireless AA built in. The MA1 works far better, drops connections far less, and overall just operates more seamlessly than those two. To the point where I'm tempted to buy MA1 to install in them.

The Motorola MA1 is exactly what I just purchased from Amazon. It's nice to see a glowing recommendation for it from a fellow Genesis owner. I shouldn't have to worry about it not working. I see your point about my original complaint, which looks like it will be made moot by the MA1 anyway.

The MA1 is a good piece of kit, but it is still just a link in the communications chain that makes up Wireless Android Auto, which lately has been rather buggy. Right now, quite often Amazon Music would connect automatically upon startup, but the track I select won't start playing. Pretty sure it isn't a hardware issue, because I would restart my phone, and everything would start up smoothly again.

Google is constantly updating AA, and not always for the better as far as connection reliability is concerned. I also just changed my phone, so the optimization settings on my new phone could also play a part. I'm gonna delve into that and see if a different setting would make a difference.

Fact is the first 3-4months I got the MA1, it worked flawlessly, so that makes me hesitantly to blame it.

Bought a AAwireless off Amazon. Around $70. Works great.

I purchased this one in September and have had ZERO problems with it. It connects flawlessly (even when the phone is in my pocket or man purse) every time and the music starts playing within 30 seconds of getting in the car. And, to my surprise, it has never dropped the connection either. Very highly recommended. It looks like it's currently on sale for $20 off too.

Sure seems like there is a price war going on. I bought my second Motorola MA1 for $69 before the Holidays, and now it's down to $64.

Anyway, if Genesis extend the latest AA/CP firmware update to North America, we won't need these add-on dongles any more.

Wonder if a new firmware will speed up the start up screen on the infotainment screen.
When I start the car the display of the city scape on the water with the time just seems to stay on forever until I push the any of the physical buttons below it. With Android Auto set always on with start up and attached to the AAwireless device, then Google maps shows up in about 10 seconds.

I would also like to see the Star button on the steering wheel open Google maps - not the Genesis Apps.

Those 2 things bug me.
