  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I leased a 2019 G70 3.3 for 3 years and never had a problem other than a flat tire. I loved it so much that when my 3 years were up and I had 9,000 + miles on it, I purchased it. Within one month of ownership an animal chewed the wires and the rack and pinion had to be replaced, to the tune of $6,100. My insurance paid all but my $300 deductible. I picked it up at the dealership and within 10 hours it happened it again!!! Now, it was fixed it again and I’m going to pick it up. I’m literally afraid to take the car out of the garage at night!!! The odd thing, there were no droppings, nests or odor. How could this be?

Animals are very much creatures of habit. Put food out and they will return to look for more. From an animal POV, you just put out another tray of food.

You need a deterrent. Others may have solutions that worked but I'd at least put out some moth balls or predator urine perhaps sprayed on the underside of the car.

What smells will keep rodents away?
Natural Mouse Repellent
Peppermint Oil. Peppermint oil is an effective method for keeping mice and rats away. ...
Cinnamon. Cinnamon is another scent that mice and rats hate. ...
Vinegar. The pungent smell of vinegar is also a natural way to repel mice and rats. ...
Citronella. ...
Ammonia. ...
Bleach. ...
Mothballs

I sprayed it all over with peppermint oil .. wheel wells, trunk, engine, etc. and it still happened the second time!
