  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all, i have 2012 fully loaded 3.8 Genesis it has 5000 miles on it, its very new and i got it zero, but from day i bought it i hear a very annoying sound coming from rear mostly from rear deck when i hit a bump, the sound is not present always, i hear it when i hit large bump fast, it sound as if 2 metal pieces hit eachother, i removed rear seats and checked space under rear dec but i didnt find any thing, does any one has same problem with genesis, can this be corrected? How? I want help please. Thanks for any comments

I've had similar issues, although not from my Genesis. I'd check: the area by your spare tire, make sure *nothing* is loose, give the tire a good tug to make sure it's secured as well. Check behind the liner in the trunk, pull, tug, jingle, push (somewhat gently, don't break anything) to see if you can replicate the sound. Also, check the doors to make sure something metallic isn't clanking around. I worked at a sound shop and people would swear their trunk was falling apart but it turned out to be change or something metallic in the pockets on the doors. Just some things to look for.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Run the rear shade to the up position and see if the sound stops.

I think someone else on here had a similar noise and it turned out to be faulty wheel bearings.

Thanks so much i checked all but didnt find any thing, every part was tight but i just found that the covering under rear deck you can see it inside the trunk that covers speakers underneath the rear deck was moving so easily when i tried to move it by hand!!

Aha!! Hopefully that resolves your issue! Happy to have helped :)

I don't hear anything and my computer speakers are on!!!

Maybe you should fill up that gap under the wheel well with some carpet and spray foam? Or, ask your dealer to find the problem.

Glad to see somebody here is observing the HGF punctuation protocols.
