  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I know the CrankPS is on the bell housing. For the 2014 V8 and older models, the wiring harness is bolted on top of the intake manifold allowing access to the crank sensor from the top with some extensions and swivels. On the 2015+ V8 models the wiring harness is bolted to the back of the intake manifold. There is no space to do work without removing the wire harness. I unbolted the harness from the intake manifold but there is not enough play to get it out of the way.

So my question is, for the 2015+ V8, are you suppose to take out half the wire harness or do you access the sensor from below?

You can reach the crank senor from the top of the engine if you remove the wiper cowl trim and firewall trim. you may have to unbolt the wiring harness cover and disconnect the cam sensors on the valve covers to have better access to crank sensor.

Not the best pictures of the crank sensor, but you will have more room to access the crank sensor with wiper and firewall cowl removed.
