  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

After looking at many cars, I'm happy to report that I just bought a new 3.8 Grand Touring Coupe. Of course, ownership wouldn't be complete without joining the Hyundai Genesis Forum! :)

Although my experience is still pretty limited with the car, it's been great so far. I'll be glad to share whatever info I can about the Coupe.

After having compared the Genesis to similarly-priced Lexus, Acura, Audi and BMW products, I think Hyundai is gonna be a big player in the higher-end market very soon.

Congratulation on your new ride and welcome to the forum!

Welcome, Welcome, Welcome!:welcome:

Thanks for the welcome, guys. I've already come up with a minor question about my coupe - hopefully I'll be able to provide some answers soon. :o

congrats on the new genesis and enjoy, hyundai may be a bigger player in the luxury market but I think they need to focus on their dealerships, as that will play a big role in how they are perceived.

I agree about the Hyundai's need to focus on its dealers. It's actually the ownership experience that determines customer satisfaction with a car, in my opinion.

Since the advent of the Genesis and the success of the Elantra, Hyundai is really starting to go head-to-head with Lexus, Toyota & Honda - all of whom have provided very good service in my experience. You can have a great, relatively inexpensive car (like the Genesis) and wind up with very unhappy customers if your dealers drop the ball.

My local dealer, for example, has a very nice sales staff - low pressure and very pleasant to deal with. The service department at my local dealer, though, is a cause for concern; the seat in the car I just bought needed to be cleaned prior to my taking delivery. It appeared that a technician had sat in the seat with grease-covered pants(!) during the pre-delivery service.

After an oversight like sitting in the seat with dirty pants, I'm not that confident that the tech (I think he's the only one at my local dealer) won't "leave his mark" somewhere on my car after a routine service. I may wind up performing my own oil changes or try another dealer for service.
