  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello, I own a 2005 lexus LS 430 and I am intrigued by the new Genesis sedan.
I stopped by my dealer for a test drive of a 2008 LS and was blown away by the trade-in and the difference in moneys ( $43,000 and my car!). I decided to take a look around and was pleasantly surprised by the new Genesis sedan. I hope to drive one when they become available. Thank You for giving us new admirers a forum to pursue our common interest in this vehicle.

Joe

Hi Joe. Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. You and I have something in common. Well - at least we did. I owned a 2005 Lexus LS430 as well.. Joe - you already own what's probably the greatest vehicle ever created (in my opinion - and many other's). Going from the LS430 to the Genesis may be a bit difficult for you.

BUT - that is yet to be seen. I do think that the Genesis is going to be a GREAT vehicle - just like the Lexus LS400 was back in 1989. So it may turn out okay. I just have to say, however, that once you own a Lexus LS - everything else seems mediocre...

Thanks again for signing up!

I will hafta check out the 2005 Lexus LS430.It could maybe make for a good used car purchase, eh?

For a 05 LS it will cost from about 35k to 40k depending on miles and equip. I will have to evaluate the Genesis before I decide to pull the trigger. I think the comparison to the 89 Lexus launch being similar is valid. I cant wait for the intro in our area of the new genesis sedan.

Absolutely.. It does everything that it's supposed to do - perfectly... 0-60 in 5.9 seconds, smooth and quiet as can be.. It's really amazing...

The newer LS460 is even faster.. 0-60 in 5.4 for an ever bigger sedan. Same for the Chrysler 300C... The 300C SRT-8 is even faster than that.. Big cars are fast these days..
