Another "won't start" thread

Hi folks! Proud new owner of a 2011 3.8 sedan. I'd been poring over forums etc trying to diagnose a possible parasitic battery drain, and removed the batteries from the fobs to ensure they were good. They were, but now I have this unfamiliar no start where everything looks good until I try to engage the starter, then boom boom out go the lights. Key fob icon on the dash illuminated briefly (with many others) before it went dark. Started and ran beautifully before this (68K mi). Have I engaged the immobilizer and/or goofed up my key fobs?

Battery holding at 12.7v, grounds test good (and look brand new). Test fuses next I guess?

Doubtful it’s a fuse
How did you test the battery? Does it start when you jump it?
Bring it to a shop and have them test The electrical system.

The positive battery clamp is more often loose than one of the grounds.

Thanks joegr. It looked solid, and new. It FELT solid. It showed continuity on my meter (from lead post to cable attachments). I decided too put a 10mm on it anyway and it was none too tight. A few twists to tighten and . . . LIFE! For the benefit of others I list: DEAD BATTERY, NO START, POSITIVE BATTERY CLAMP as search terms that may land.

yup, the clamp design is weak
