  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Replaced the battery, now the anti theft will not stop going off.
2012 Genesis 3.8 sedan

Was the vehicle locked when you opened the trunk and disconnected the battery? (did you replace the battery without having the vehicle unlocked?)

With any car which is heavily battery dependent make sure to use this little Memory Saver gadget before disconnecting the car battery. I placed one of these next to the car battery with a note saying:

Before disconnecting car battery please install this Memory Saver :
1) Install the 9V battery which is enclosed
2) Connect red clamp to red car battery lead FIRST
3) Connect black clamp to black car battery lead
4) Remove car battery leads from battery and make sure Memory Saver clamps stay in place

I have attached this note to the Memory Saver so that anybody needing to remove the car battery while I am not present knows what to do. I disconnect the 9V battery from the Memory Saver simply to safeguard it from slowly draining. If it is not used for many years it may be prudent to replace the battery from time to time or at least check the voltage. It is no good to find the juice is gone when you actually need to use it.

Interesting....I have replaced my battery and NEVER had that issue. EVER.
May need to consult the manual or contact your dealer.
