  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone ever seen a video review of the Connected services? Or could help me out by answering a few questions.

Are there any privacy settings at all on it? Or if I create multiple accounts for the other drivers of the car they'll always be able to see my location and vice versa. My son would be driving the car and I'd like to get him an account connected as well when I purchase but I'm hoping there's a way I can set him up as a "user" versus "owner." Where he can remote start but not geofence or check my location.

Also, I read that Kia's version of Connected Services if you login to the web site it has a permanent list of all the locations you've visited without a way to delete any of them. Is this true as well?

I know there is the "well, you have a cell phone" argument that comes up when asking these questions about privacy. But, there are plethora of privacy settings you can enable on a cell phone and I'm the only one who uses that device so I don't have to worry about other people's access to the information on it. Worst case if I don't feel comfortable I just won't enable the service even though it's free for the first few years.

Thanks and grateful for any information folks can share. :)

On the myhyundai.com website, under My Account, there is a My Data and Privacy tab that includes some privacy options. I don't know if the Genesis website is laid out differently, but I suspect that most of the options would be similar. I already disabled most of the settings for data collection and sharing, but I could not disable data collection for Bluelink services without cancelling my Bluelink account. There are also options to submit a personal information request to view the information Hyundai has collected, opt out of the sale of personal information, and delete the information Hyundai has stored. The link to begin a personal information request is a small link above the rest of the settings and is easy to miss.

I don't know if options like the information deletion request are available to residents of all states. Some states like California have stricter privacy laws, and on some websites opt-out and deletion requests only work in states where they are required by law.

Even if you can probably never delete all of the information about you, you might be able to reduce some of the targeted junk mail and calls you receive, which is a slight victory.

Thanks for replying. Do you use multiple accounts for the car for other drivers? What's that experience like? Do they get to do everything the owner can do or can you limit their features?

Unfortunately, I can't answer your questions about other drivers. It's just me, so I only have one account.
