  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any advice on minor problem please.

I have a 2012 white 5.0 sedan. In 2102 with the 5.0 engine it only came with the premium tech package.

Love the car, absolutely perfect so far and I have had it since March of 2012. Around 4000 miles on it.

Today, bitter cold weather (1 deg. F) whenever I shift to Reverse, the camera screen comes on with the warning at the bottom to check around perimeter of car when getting out.

I have seen this before, but it has always cleared when I pulled forward when something got to close to the rear end.

Parking assist is off and all the parking sensors work properly.

There is another fixture on the trunk lid to the left of the trunk, perhaps that is the culprit, or perhaps the very cold temps. could effect something?

Any advice appreciated.

seen this on many rentals, but not my car since it lives in FL.

see if you have snow/ice/frost on your sensors

a quick wipe and you are back to normal

kf4zra is bang on..
when sensors are covered in frost/snow, this happens.

I just turn off the sensors tbh when it is really cold out.

Drove a fusion in Grand rapids Mon, and a taurus yesterday and today in boston and have dealt with this.

Cant wait til i get back home to FL where I dont have to deal with this white cold stuff that is everywhere...and to play with my V8 :)

Thoroughly cleaned sensors and camera lense to no avail.

Put Genny in heated garage for a day to get rid of any frost or moisture in the lense.

Parking assist was off when this occurred, and the parking assist works perfectly still when I turn it on. Seems to have no effect on back-up caution message.

No go.

I suspect it is one of those computer glitches that occasionally happen with the Genny.

If anyone knows which fuse to pull to reset I will give it a try, other wise wait until next oil change. no big deal either way.

Drove in bad snow again this week, had no problems at all with 5.0 and Michelin tires. No weight in trunk. The 5.0 sedan is a heavy car which must help, and it am very carefull.

Thanx to all who responded.
