  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All,

I been ignoring it for a bit but now it is happening more frequently.

When leaving my driveway and other same scenarios as very low speeds and if it is silent in the car I hear the steering wheel making a whining sound while turning it and I also feel some tire scrubbing sounds as if my front right tire is rubbing in the fender but I inspected everything very closely.

I ignored this as I thought it was actual rubbing as I have +15mm spacers in front and lowered it with Storm springs.

Turned out, there is no rubbing so something must be up with the rack and maybe also the steering column motor as the 2 sounds seem different?

I have a 2024 SP 3.5T with only 11k miles on it.

If it is a known issue, can you guide me to the details of it please as Google didn’t show anything for me?

Also, can this wait until next oil change or is it something that will get worse if it’s not a simple grease job etc?

My fear is the dealer blaming the springs or spacers so they don’t have to warranty anything.

Any and all advice is much appreciated please.

The above link talks about: This bulletin provides information to inspect and replace the front or rear wheel bearinghub assemblies for all Genesis vehicles. This procedure is applicable when noise (whirring, roaring, grinding, rumbling, etc.) is present which gets louder when driving with more speed.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for this helpful info.

Seems like I have BOTH TSB’s going on and I will remove the spacers for peice of mind.

Issue 1 is def the column needing tot be greased to get rid of that whine.

Issue 2 is def the wheel HUB.

The hard part is making both of the issues happen proof for repair or else they will say no trouble found ha ha.

Just so glad I don’t have the Transfer Case issue yet lol. Jinx!
