  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Any US owners that know their cluster variant code?

Hi everyone,

I've got a 2015 3.8L Ultimate in Australia and I've been doing some mucking around with the car.
We're missing a few features compared to our overseas friends:
  • Lane Keep Assist (we only get Lane Keep Warning System) (LKA)
  • Turn-by-Turn navigation on the cluster and HUD (it's just a powered off symbol in the cluster) (TBT)
    • there is the option in the cluster menu to show TBT on the HUD but it does nothing
  • Smart Parking (not sure if US gets this - where the car can park itself)
So far I've managed to get LKA working by changing the variant of the system to North America and am reasonably certain that the TBT is disabled by the cluster (or possibly the head unit). Smart Parking I can't do anything about as I am physically missing the ECM for it. I've checked all the code for the Map software and I can't see any reference to TBT.

My questions is: does anybody in the US with an Ultimate have their cluster (CLU) variant code?

You can find it out from either the HyundaiTechInfo site (not for Aus though) or through GDS by requesting information when you've loaded the Cluster module.

My cluster variant code is: DE68. The options enabled are:
  • LKA/LKWS
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • HUD
  • Blind Spot Monitoring (BSD)
  • ESC+ABS
  • SCC (Smart Cruise Control)
  • A/BAG
  • PSB (pre-seatbelt tensioning)
  • EPB (Electronic Parking Brake)
  • Maybe ActiveHood? Can't confirm
  • Maybe MDPS (motor driven power steering)
Not enabled:
  • 4WD (we only got RWD here)
  • turn-by-turn?
I believe each feature flips one of the bits in the cluster variant code. I don't really want to trial and error this so if anyone from the US has their code, I'd like to try it (or use it as a base for modifying mine).

Okay, so I believe my premise is wrong. Doing some analysis of cluster variant codes I can find online - turn-by-turn is not one of the options.

This leads me to believe that it's variant coding on the navigation unit / head unit. My only problem is that our head unit is different:
  • no jog wheel at the front
  • no SiriusXM
  • no Bluelink
  • we have rear seat controls
  • 60GB disk instead of 120GB
and I can't change the variant coding since it doesn't look like they included multiple variants (only have AU option). Might try flashing the US head unit dump that Suburbazine posted a while ago.
