  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I'm having an issue specific to GenesisOwners where loading any page with ads causes an immediate freeze in Chrome followed by a series of related processes crashing. Samsung S23 Ultra running Android 13.

If I block the ads and limit image loading, I can get a bit further before some sort of render blocking error occurs and stops pages from scrolling.

Sorry to hear you're having an issue.

It's never a good thing when one of the few things that keep this community financially possible is causing a problem.

Are you noticing any specific ads that could be causing the problem?

What's interesting is that even with ads off, you're still running into an issue...

Could you try clearing all browser cache and cookies, restart the browser, log back in and see if that helps?

…and let me tell you, what a last couple of weeks it’s been. The server admin has been preparing the server for a major software update and a future server upgrade. During that time attachments stopped working. We got that fixed over the weekend and then found attachment THUMBNAILS weren’t working.

As of about 10 minutes ago, that’s working again. Now we just need to rebuild all the attachments so the uploads from the past week have thumbnails again. Lots more work ahead…

I don't think it's the ads specifically, it's something to do with the way (all) images are being served or the number of them. I don't have the same level of diagnostics in a mobile browser as a desktop, and the desktop browsers have no issues at all.
