  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

My front grill sensor is discolored (well known issue) and my window trim seal is kinked/bent on 2 different places. I've been waiting on parts for a week now without ETA and the dealership told me is "back orders. Could be days or weeks. I'm not sure". I'm not having to wait on a phone call from them which is fine because neither of my repairs is hindering the drive. Anyone else having this sort of delays?
Sorry in advance if this is the wrong place to post this :p

Likely not unusual with a new car in a new market. I'm assuming it takes a while to get decent local inventory on this continent, expect things to get better.

Also, you may have common issues that the manufacturer is aware of and fixing on new models hence the backorder on certain parts.

Yup. Known issues will be more likely to have backorders at first; especially on new models. You've got the OEM having to prioritize repair inventory vs new car construction inventory. Then you have the dealerships buying up the repair inventory to fix the common issue. And to top it off, if the OEM deems it a big enough problem, they will halt or even recall faulty inventory until the problem is corrected.

when I got my G80 sport in June 2018 it was the same 3-6 week parts back order. nothing available stateside for the new model, everything comes on a slow boat form Korea..
