  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone familiar with images on LCD info screen between tach and speedometer?

Last night while using the sport shift traffic came to complete stop. I down shifted rapidly. I could've sworn on the LCD there flashed an image of the car and something in red. But it was momentary and quickly went back the normal selectable graphic I had displayed.

I don't know for sure because I was focused on not hitting the car in front of me.

I have spent the last 2 hours with the manual trying to find reference to the image I saw but have not found any.

Has anyone seen something like this? If not, does any one have a guess as to what flashed and what it was warning about?

No problems with the car just am curious about what flashed on the screen.

Are you sure it wasn't your life flashing before you? :)

Seriously, I haven't seen anything like that on the display, even during panic stops. But I did get to see the pictogram that comes up when the TPMS detects low pressure for the first time yesterday, so I know that works.

Glad you and your car are OK.

:) Probably the blood rushing to my head. I'm wondering if it was a warning image because I entered 1st at too high a rev. The tach and engine noise seemed to be in line though.

From NOLa in the Equus thread several months ago:

I had to stop really short yesterday after a truck in front of me did the same. It activated the Vehicle Stability Management system.

It all happened so fast, I'm not sure what happened. I do know that the small display screen in the dash flashed red and the the lanes that you would see when using the LDWS appeared. I responded quickly, even before the display came on, so it disappeared quickly which is why I'm unable to describe it. Of course I wasn't really looking at the screen considering the circumstances.

In the manual it shows that the screen should also display 2 cars much as the screen does when you have the cruise control engaged. I'm assuming it did that.

I didn't notice if the seat belt or brakes did anything different because it was over with so quickly. I didn't hear any warning sound, but I was listening to my Ipod and had the volume up.

Nice to know it works, hope the car doesn't feel the need to do it again.

That's exactly it. That's what happened. Thanks so much for clearing that up for me.
