  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all, today I read the Korean news from Chosun.com. Some Korean Genesis owers are having problems with ""handle is locked". Any US owner have similar problem? I plan to buy Genesis near future but this news makes me hesitate to buy.

Never even heard of this, nor do I have the problem. At first glance this subject made me think of a door handle not opening etc. Also, the english translation was somewhat difficult to understand certain terms, since I'm sure not every word in English translates to Korean and vice versa.

Sorry. I just copy and paste the text from the News.

"handle" means the steering wheels.

Anyone have the steering wheels locked problem?

No door handle or steering wheel lock on my 4.6. Haven't seen that on this forum at all.

Well that's scary. If you're researching Korean sites about the car, you're certainly being thorough.

Never heard of this. If you are in the United States, you're OK.

I read this article myself too. In it, number of Genesis drivers in Korea have made the complaint that when it reaches the speed of 50 MPH the steering wheel gets LOCKED and cannot steer and control the vehicle safely.

That driver slammed on the brake in the middle of the freeway once he realized the car was just going in straight line.

I have never experienced this issue and I hope I don't have to experience it.
