  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone have window problems?

Hey guys! Has there been any concrete solutions found to resolve this problem?

My wife has the Genesis today (2012 Sedan)...and its freezing raining/sleeting. On the way to work this morning, about 5 miles from home, the rear driver side window went down on its own and it WON'T GO BACK UP! So here she is at work all day with the car out in a parking lot with freezing rain relentlessly coming down inside the car...aside from that, if she can't get it to go up by the time 5 o'clock rolls around, she then has a 45 minute commute to get home...in 28 degree, icy conditions! I stopped by her work and fiddled with it for 10-15 minutes with no luck...then I had to get to work.

We've brought the car to a dealership about this 3 times in the past and of course, they couldn't replicate the issue and told us that "nothing was wrong" so we contacted Hyundai corporate, whom then sent us back to a dealership and they claimed to have "replaced a switch" (or something to that effect) and the issue still wasn't resolved. She loves the car (as do I), but its completely unacceptable that we can't drive it any time it rains!

Please tell me that someone found the perfect solution!
I've had mine for 3 years and problems with this the whole time and now in dry weather it's not the going down on their own it's that they won't roll down except every once in a while but then I can't get them to go up so I keep messing with buttons till for no reason they go up again.
I read 3 years ago on this site that the problem is the seal in the driver's window is in backwards but I can't get anyone to look for me and I'm done with the dealership ripping me off as they have since day one on issues I've had since buying this car..
I would love to get out of this car but they screwed me over lying about the maintenance warranty that put me 2,000.00 in debt and makes me so upside down no one will let me trade it without losing over 6,000.00
If I were a man or could buy the book for repairing this car I'd of already tried to see if it's the seal as was posted.. My gut says it's the problem.

I have also noticed this on my 2012. It seems to happen much more if the side mirrors are folded in. Seems to do pretty good if they are left extended out, not folded in. I'm definitely thinking water is getting in thru the side mirror somehow, and shorting the window switch or a connector.

I just had the same issue. I didn't try the back windows but the front windows would roll down but not back up. I'm leaning towards the pinch sensor since it would move quarter to half an inch up before stopping but eventually it wouldn't move at all. I let the car sit for about 10 minutes off and when I got back in, it did roll it all the way up. It is overcast here and normal humidity. I also have the intermittent no audio issue. This is a used 2011 4.6L Sedan. At 79,000 miles, this should not be happening. I have a 2005 Elantra I got brand new and it has 198k miles, but never experienced any issues with any of the functions of the car. Any direction would be nice. I am planning on looking in the door myself for loose or exposed wiring/connections.
Having identical problem with p/w + new and old keyfobs not detected, video head and audio controls working erratically and dash clock not retaining setting when car turned off and restarted.
