  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I was looking for something I dropped under the seat and found this on the floor just below the driver's seat controls. It is 5 1/8" long.

Looks like the tool used to remove/install the valve cores in a/c systems. The small end is for low pressure service port valve and the large end is for the high pressure service port valve.

Thanks! I was hoping it was a tool vs. some part that belongs to the seat mechanism.

That's exactly what is - a Schrader valve tool --- certainly an odd place for it

Can air conditioner low pressure valve be change out?

Do you mean the low side test/fill port? Sure it can. Refrigerant has to be recovered to do so, and then the system has to be evacuated before refilling it.

It is a tool used for removing or installing Shrader valves, tire valves, etc..

It is a shrader valve tool. The tool is used to remove the shrader valves out of tires and HVAC fittings. It can be used to tighten shrader valves to stop air or refrigerant leaks from loose valves.

Edit: I just noticed the OP asked this question back in 2016. Hope the OP got the answer already.:)

Yes. The shrader cores can be replaced on the high and low pressure lines. If the hard line is damaged then you will have to replace the metal A/C line.

If you reheat it over an open flame it burns the hair off. Good as new!

EdP, I don't ever eat in my car and I don't own a cat. Or, should I say, I don't eat cats in my car and don't own a french-fry. Either way, I was kidding.

No matter. I can't pass up an opportunity to make an absurd comment.
