  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

WE are having our road resurfaced, I already have some tiny scratches.
I believe there is only one manufacturer, and if someone has fitted one would like an opinion or better yet a decent picture. Since its a leased vehicle I am more conservative about putting money into it.

No, but sometimes one is left on the floor.

I have a bra for my 2009 sedan that I use for winter time long highway drives to minimize bumper/nose paint damage from road salt/ash. It was made by Colgan and has openings for the bumper mounted parking sensors; they had versions for cars without the parking sensors too. I'd assume the 2010/2011 versions would have whatever openings are required for the adaptive cruise control sensors.

It fits well though it takes a couple strong pulls (pliers help) to install the clips in the front wheel wells. The instructions are pretty poor; they're generic to pretty much all Colgan bras so none of the pictures/fasteners line up with the Genesis bra.

As with any car bra, the issues are:
* will it scratch the paint itself? The Colgan one has a soft backside that looks like it'd treat the paint well. Of course a quality wax job on the car before installing the bra will help.
* Long term use, especially if the car is parked in sunshine frequently: differential fading of the paint. As I noted above, I install mine only when I'm going on a long highway drive. So it's in the shipping box far more often than it's on the car.
* Washing the car: ought to be done with the bra removed. Trapping wash (or rain or snow) water in the bra for extended time periods isn't a good idea. And you do need to clean dust and road grim out of it... otherwise that grit WILL end up getting ground into the paint.

I found mine at AutoAnything on the web. Prompt service... except you end up on their email list and will get numerous sales/specials announcements every week.

Stuz88's car is a leased vehicle and I'm sure he does not want to pay the high price of a clear plastic cover on a leased vehicle vice the much lower cost of a removable vinyl bra. If he was going to keep the car for ten years, yes, the clear plastic cover is the way to go, but for two, three or four years on a lease, go with the removable vinyl bra, if at all.

Clear Bra installed a few days after purchasing. My Mercedes has a messed up front end from the 114 mile round trip commute, rocks, sand, and love-bugs, so this was a must for me and my commute. Absolutely glad I spent the money to have it done.
