  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone seen Parisian Grey?

I seriously doubt that a 2012 Honda dark gray color is the same as a 2015 Genesis Empire State Gray. I would like to see them both in the daylight and see if the paint highlights are the same. No offense meant.

The Empire State Gray really sparkles in direct sunlight.

No offense taken Ernie3647 and after seeing one, the Genesis Empire State Gray is heads above the Honda gray. I liked it so much that I added it to my list of color choices.

Acknowledged glad no offense was taken.

Picked up mine Saturday evening. I was lucky enough to get the Parisian Gray/Ivory 5.0L Ultimate. I love it and in the sunlight you can see the hints of blue in the paint. The dealership said they were not showing another one in Texas right now.

I'm new to Genesis and the forum, but thought I'd comment...

Just bought my 3.8L HTRAC Ultimate in Parisian Gray on Saturday. It is going to be delivered to my house tomorrow afternoon. I am super excited!!! As others posted the color seems to shift a little depending on the lighting situation. In bright, direct sun light there is a mild blue hue to the gray. In indirect light the gray is stunning and has a nice smokey color to it. At night, it looks pretty dark. I absolutely love the look and can't wait to do a few mods... Speaking of that, I already have a plan of attack on some tweaks to the looks and would love feedback on the following:
  • Trunk Wings - of course
  • Possible removing the 3.8 badge and putting on the G380
  • Fog Lights - If I can find them...
  • Illuminated Door sills/scuffs/skuffs - If I can find them...
  • LED changes / replacements - Any thoughts?
  • 35% Tint all around (the max in NC)
  • Possibly using clear tint on the windshield - I would love some feedback
  • Clear Bra - Any suggestions on manufacturer, etc..?

Onuriss, for the clear bra I suggest checking in on the XPEL protection.

I am taking my car tomorrow to have the XPEL Ultimate done for the whole vehicle. I have used it on my previous 3 cars...2 BMWs and a Cadillac. My husband had just the hood, fenders, mirrors, and headlights done on his 2011 Ford Ranger when he bought it. It still looks brand new and no scratches or paint chips; which is great because where we live we have alot of rock quarries around and always those rock trucks on the highway that seem to have rocks bouncing out of the trailer just as you get close.

I went to the XPEL dealer directly instead of going thru a dealership and was able to get it for far less than I would have paid going thru a dealership. The Hyundai dealership here doesn't offer the XPEL only their version of a protective film which doesn't offer self-healing and such on theirs.

If you do a search on “XPel” (which is the best one) you’ll find plenty of help. My car was done just a short while ago the complete front and the rear bumper. It came out beautiful I say that because you can’t even tell it is on the car you have to know and look for it. The rear bumper treatment just paid for itself. I did the same thing I did with my prior Genesis I lowered my garage door without the car being all the way in. On my 2011 it was awful I scratched the rear bumper bad the car was only 3 months old. Well my wife did just the same thing on the new one but this time it was a different story the Xpel film took the hit and there wasn’t a mark on the bumper. Within a couple of days the Xpel film also had no marks on it. I’ve always had electronic measures in the garage to prevent such incidents but sometimes haste trumps caution. Thanks to my foresight my new car is still….well new.

Just out of curiosity, what are the typical prices to have the whole car done?

Thanks to everyone. I will check out the XPEL site and see which local shop can do the install. My car should be here in a few hours... Can't wait!!!

I went to XPEL this morning to find out the cost. XPEL does offer a 10% military discount plus I am getting an extra discount for repeat/multiple vehicle customer. I am getting the whole vehicle done in the ultimate protection...everything except the sunroof which would run about $4k before any discounts. Oh and they are going to put on the Hyundai Wing Rear Trunk Emblem for me at no extra charge. I do know that several people that mentioned they were referred by me in the BMW/Cadillac forum received a discount since they weren't military. The XPEL has a 10 year warranty that is transferable. Also, when I went to get my Genesis I had @ 8 years left on the warranty and Hyundai gave me credit for the remaining warranty time in the trade-in. I don't know any other protection film that holds its value when you go to trade in your vehicle. 2 yrs ago the cost for the whole vehicle before any discounts was $3500. I also get a discount on my car insurance.

Got one - 2015 3.8 HTRAC, Parisian Grey, Ivory interior, Ultimate package.

Dealer said it was the only one in New England - apparently, the ivory leather is not out there very much,

That is exactly the combo I bought (Tyler TX) !!
