  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone upsize the profile from 50 to 55/60?

Since the Genesis has such a harsh ride, I am thinking of getting new tires, changing their profile and maybe speed rating. I am thinking of going from the stock 235/50-18 to 235/55 or 60's. Maybe it will soften things up a bit at the expense of tight handling. Has anyone does this with their Gennnie? Results?
What tire did you move to?

It probably wouldn't do any harm to the car, but your speedo will be substantially off at highway speeds...it'll be 2-4mph low from 60-80mph.

A closer fit would be 225/55 R18, it's only +1.8% diameter difference vs. +3.4%. You'll gain about 1/2" of sidewall vs. 7/8" for the 235s.

What tires do you have now? Can gain a lot of tire comfort just by switching to a less agressive tire.

I have a 2011 4.6 tech pkg, comfort pkg. 3800 miles, yes 3800.
Dunlop sp 5000m tires. Hard pull right even when traveling w on e bound
Freeway, so Road crown not an issue.

Get some new tires, and that will help tremendously. The OEM Dunlops are very harsh. Bridgstone Serenity Plus is a good choice, also some Michelin tires are also good.

You can also have the rear stabilizer bar replaced with the one on the 2012 models. The price is only about $125 for the bar, and a decent suspension shop can install it for a reasonable price (some people do it themselves). See the other threads on the subject.

Once you complete the two tasks above, you will be good to go, even with 50 series tires.

Put the front tires on the back. Could be radial steer. Front wheel drive cars get that a lot when you let of the gas it dives to one side or another I have had it happen with two cars and when I switched the tires it stopped. Have you ever listened to the creaking of the tires when driving.
