  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Mythbusters did a show on this. Was interesting... they were able to replicate various photos using topography and a single light source.

(1). Inconsistent ground lighting? It looks fine to me. The image is being reflected off a curved face shield, so the image should look distorted, and the light will fall-off to sides of the image being reflected (basic optics).

(2). Ground hot-spot? Sunshine? I don't see anything unusual.

(3). The rock is lighted from the side (slightly to the rear), the same angle as the astronaut. The angle of the face of the rock relative to the camera reflects the suns rays directly into the camera and makes it appear bright (basic geometry). Notice the sun also reflects brightly off the left side (our right) of the astronaut's suit due to the same geometry. The shadow of the rocks looks fine also, but obviously it is to far away and the camera is at a bad angle (too low) to see the shadow clearly.

This is why I brought this up.. Because I can't see anything really wrong with the photo. Apparently, some people do. So I'd like to get a little debate going about it.. Maybe someone will come along and make sense of the conspiracy theory. Until then, I'll just assume the walk on the moon really took place.

My favorite line by one of the former astronauts is if we faked the landing of Apollo 11's Eagle on the moon................then why the need to fake it with Apollo's 12,14,15,16, and 17?

Also they left instruments on the moon.......some of which are still used to bounce lazer beams back to earth to get a precise distance measurement from the earth to the moon.

And there is going to soon be a spacecraft with a high definition camera put into orbit around the moon to start getting highly detailed pictures about future landing sites. This spacecraft will be able to photograph the old Apollo landing sites. Of course the kind of people that think the moon landings were faked will no doubt think this is fake to.

And recently I saw some debate about something should be done on the moon to protect all the old Apollo landing sites and make sure that they are not disturbed from a historic stand point from especially should other countries finally land there.

Enough with that..............I have a brief question. I recently went from a Blackberry phone to a windows 6.1 phone. I can actually bring up many more websites than I ever could with my blackberry. I however can't bring up this site which I do miss. What does come up is the very first line that says Madison Ross Media Group Automotive communities automotive communities. I can't do anything with the options to the right of that. Anyone have any idea's as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!!!
