  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Maintain your Genesis’ exceptional beauty with this protection plan that covers common interior and exterior cosmetic damages that occur with everyday usage of your vehicle, as well as tire and wheel damages caused by road hazards.

Did anyone choose the protection? Considering the 3.5T models have 21-inch wheels, and to avoid paying insurance deductibles for dents and scratches, is it good to have this protection?

It's basically an insurance, and its a huge money maker for the dealer. I am very careful with my vehicles, and while accidents happen, I can get a door ding pulled paint free for $120, maybe less. I can buff scratches and anything that can't be buffed, can be touched up by the same shop that does the paint less dent repair. I personally, would rather take my chances. for $2100, can do alot of repairs and buy at least a couple of wheels if needed (probably more if found used). Plus, I plan on using the 19" stock wheels that will come with my Prestige as my winters. My summers will be 22" after markets wheels, and they wouldn't have coverage anyway. It really is a personal choice and depends on the level of risk of damage your vehicle faces.

I am more cynical and think this is more of a scam than anything. At $2500, that is a huge expense that you will not recover when you sell or trade in future. That money saved buys a lot of repairs if you need. Although i don't have direct experience, but my bet is they would not be so quick to reimburse for every cosmetic ding and scratch. Must read the fine print. Save your money and skip it.

My GEM put that in my order without my knowledge. When i randomly went to check my account, I noticed it. Was not happy about that at all. Called and he removed from the order. Make sure they did not do that without your approval and when the car gets here they apply the protection and it's too late to reverse.
