Apple Car Play Drawbacks

I have assumed too much. Not sure I want Car Play any more after reading this. I am a big fan of WAZE which becomes useless with Car Play enabled. Basically almost everything on the iPhone becomes disabled when car play is in use except for the few limited apps that are meant to be used on screen. You enjoy Spotify? Unless I missed it, it doesn't say that specifically anywhere in the article, does it? Regardless it says this...

More music apps coming
Nearly a dozen audio, music player, and audio book apps are approved for one platform or the other. More are coming. In this category, Apple and Android are willing to open the field, even if they own audio apps themselves (Beats, which CarPlay supports on day one)...

I have an Android and use Spotify all the time so even if Android Auto doesn't sync with Spotify right now, it sounds like it will in the future considering it's the most popular music app.

Either way, we have yet to hear for sure that they're coming to the G2 (Tech package) anyway.

I should've just searched the internet before I even responded with my last post.

I checked and looks like as of basically a year ago Android Auto does integrate with Spotify so that's good! http://www.androidcentral.com/spotifys-smooth-streaming-great-addition-android-auto

Don't know if the same can be said for Apple CarPlay.

I would miss having nav directions on my HUD. It's one of my favorite features. I'm not sure how much I need CarPlay. Once I got past the learning curve on the infotainment system, I have all i need.

IMHO, Siri integration is more important than CarPlay.

Not yet. When AA comes out, it'e theoretically possible, and since Google owns Waze I think you'll see it unless the Auto Manufacturers have lobbied against it.

As far as Apple CP, most likely never.
