Apple Carplay Link on myhyundai

I recently purchased a 2016 Genesis Signature package with the 8 inch touchscreen. It didn't have Carplay so I went to the Hyundai website to see if the download was available. It wasn't and when I asked the dealership could they install it, they said that they would have to change the entire head unit. I thought only the Ultimate and others with the 9.2 inch screens couldn't get AA/ACP but am I mistaken?

From what I understand, if the ACP was downloaded while available ( apparently not done on your car ), you have it. The free download is no longer available. Changing out the head unit is not what needs to be done. I think you now need to update maps, and the ACP will be part of that update. Of course, that comes with a cost. Others please chime in and correct me if I'm mistaken.

Try a different dealer. I don’t think they know what they are talking about. Also can you post a picture of the mapnsoft page that says the download is not available. It will hep in answering your question. You can blank out the vin.

You are out of luck just like me, only option for 9.2 inch screen Carplay is to buy a KPlay 2
HK CARPLAY2 10w | CAR4PLAY
