  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Are aftermarket (lower door) speakers okay?

Hey All: I've had 3 of my 4 lower door speakers go bad on my 2011 Sedan (17 speakers system) in he last 3 years or so, so I'm figuring it's just a matter of time before the 4th one goes. I called my local Genesis for a replacement speaker for my 3rd one (and, yes, going ahead to buy the 4th as well), but I was told they were on back order with no idea when they would be available. So I am interested to know whether aftermarket speakers are feasible. I was once told No by a car audio place but I don't know their reasoning. Is it possible they were just protecting me against an unbalanced speaker system? If so, am I correct in assuming I should get all 4 lower door speakers replaced? And of course, if anyone has any idea why I keep blowing speakers like this, it would be nice to know! I don't play it loud, just "full," and I do like the audio surround dvd's. When my speakers go, it's because they develop a annoying buzz in them, not necessarily in the lower range, more like the lower midrange it seems. Certain songs that hit that certain frequency can really make the speaker buzz out. Thanks, and sorry for the multiple questions!

I replaced all 4 doors with Rockford Fosgate Prime R165X3 6.5" 3-Way Full Range Coaxial Speakers. Sounds great
