Are the 2015 5.0 Transmissions Interchangeable (thru 06/27/2014, from 06/26/2014)

Hi there,
I have a 2015 Hyundai Genesis Sedan that was built in April of 2014, which means it has a thru 06/27/2014 transmission, my 3rd and 5th gear clutch packs are starting to finally go and I am in search of a transmission to replace it with. I cannot find any for sale that are thru 06/27/2014, even if I do they are upwards of 4 grand. My question is am I able to put the from 06/26/2014 transmission in it or are they not interchangeable, because those are much cheaper and plentifully available.

I would call around to some transmission shops and ask them.

Unless they do these transmissions extensively, I doubt you will get a clear answer from a shop, they're in business to move cars out, not second guess the manufacturer. You're going to have to do the research yourself. I personnaly have no knowledge of Hyundai/Genesis transmissions

yessir they are, which is why they revised the part number, my question is, will that trans fit in my car or will I have to make modifications

it makes more complicated for me as I have the car quit far from USA and only USA/Canada has 5.0 vehicles (

I'd say that it would likely physically fit... because it's expensive to change mounting hardpoints. But whether or not the electronics would all "play nice" together is an open question.

Wondering if you ever found a solution for your transmission problem as i am currently going through the exact same thing. The only "Thru" transmission i have been able to find is $4400 plus shipping for a used one with 90k miles. I can find the from transmissions for about $2000 with 50k miles. Ive also found transmissions out of a 2014 car for sub $2000. I figure one of these would have to work as the transmission's for that 6months couldn't have been all that different. What did you find and what was the solution for getting your car up and running?
