  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hopefully a good portion of these items come to market. Personally I would be more interested in improving the handling and a couple of the performance bolt-on's. The supercharger is an interesting option down the road.

Thoughts?

ARK Performance Inc. has released details for its Genesis AR550 sedan for the 2014 SEMA auto show, taking the 2015 Genesis V8’s already stellar performance to a whole new level. For the tuner’s sixth Hyundai vehicle built for SEMA, ARK injected the Genesis with performance characteristics on par with German super-sedan rivals like Mercedes-Benz AMG and BMW M. The vehicle will be revealed at Hyundai’s SEMA press conference on November 4 at 9 a.m. PT.

To build an executive sedan capable of going head-to-head with the world’s best competition, ARK focused on fusing supercharged power with head-turning design, setting a new standard for Hyundai performance. The exterior has been modified to accommodate larger wheels resulting in a wider stance, coupled with a lowered suspension setup that results in an overall more aggressive appearance. The interior has also been revised to provide the opulence of a private business jet.

“The AR550 concept focuses on refined performance that integrates directly with Hyundai’s ‘Design to Empower’ vision for the Genesis Sedan,” said Lerry Liu, Marketing Director, ARK Performance, Inc. “This year we are focused on two core elements all under the new line of ARK Racing (AR) concepts for Hyundai’s. First, we focused on the power, handling, and most importantly the sound of the Hyundai power plant. Second, we integrated our high-performance racing technology to introduce a very unique and bold Hyundai vehicle.”

Utilizing Hyundai’s award-winning “Tau” 5.0-liter V8 engine as the powertrain’s foundation, the AR550 adds 130 horsepower via the addition of a Rotrex supercharger and ARK free-flow exhaust to help the engine breath. An all new ARK-developed suspension setup reduces body roll and provides a sportier ride, and a Brembo Big Brake Kit with Nitto Tires make sure the car sticks to the road.

“AR Line” exterior modifications include front and rear wide bumpers and fenders, a carbon fiber splitter and rear diffuser and AR headlights. The business jet-like interior is accomplished through Katzkin custom diamond-stitched seats and door panels.

Follow #HyundaiSEMA to keep up to speed on all of this year’s SEMA activity.

Very nice! Hopefully they will make lowering springs!

Hopefully these modifications will have Hyundai's blessing and not void the warranty.

That is highly unlikely, aside from the cosmetic enhancements.

The OP mentioned AMG.

The article mentions "performance characteristics" of AMG or M Series. Its not an in house performance build from Hyundai but from ARK who makes performance and exterior mods for Hyundai's.

Even when companies build their own parts or have another company build it under their name that part still typically "violates" warranty as long as it's sold aftermarket (and that includes dealer installed). Nismo/Nissan is a good example of this. All that means is that if that part causes damage to other components then the damage wouldn't be covered. It is illegal under federal law for a company to require you to use their parts in order to maintain warranty, they just can't be held responsible for damage attributable to parts made by other people that you've chosen.

Well said sir, I spoke with my service manager before I started modding my coupe and he pretty much said the same thing.

But in practice, third party modifications, especially performance oriented ones are routinely used to deny warranty issues. There is enough legal mumbo jumbo to allow a dealer to deny coverage on 3rd party mods and they are best done when the standard warranty expires. No one wants to give the dealer a chance to deny coverage and most of these add on parts and software mods are giving the dealer a reason to deny coverage. Some mods can be deinstalled before a service appointment, but today's complex digital monitoring systems in the car can detect modifications and also result in denial.

I will contact ARK and Rotrex and find out about the supercharger, if it is available and some more specs. if they have it available, I will buy it and install it and let you all know how it goes.

Did we ever get more info on this? I just found out about this Supercharged Genesis and was wondering why we 2009-2014 guys cant use the rotrex supercharger if they were able to get it on the 2015 with the same motor

There is no spercharger kit available for the Tau v8 for any year. Ark performance made that special for SEMA. Even if there were, there is no tune availible for the 15-16 to get to tio work.

If you have a 09-14, you can contact BTR and see if they have able to do a customer tune for you to run boost. Otherwise, the AEM FIC8 is always an option.

Then it's just a matter of finding something like a procharger that will fit under the hood and getting custom piping fabricated.

I just want that grill. They had that in 2014 but didn't release it until the G80 sport?
