Audible "wobble" at 50+ mph

I have an audible wobble sound at highway speed. I bought the car new with 10 miles on it and it's always been there. I thought it might be from sitting at the dealership for a while. I now have 1300 miles on it and it's still there. Overall, the tire noise is louder than expected but the wobble sound is super annoying. I dont feel and vibration but it sounds like there should be one. It's definitely tire noise but not a smooth, typical hum. It's a wobble sound.

I'm now starting to think that a wheel or wheels arent balanced or that someone slightly bent a wheel on a pothole during a test drive.

Just curious if anyone else experienced this.

I hate dealing with my local dealerships but I'll have to take it in soon. I dont even like driving the car at this point.

Jack it up and spin each wheel independently and maybe you will hear something. I once had a broken piece of the TPMS inside the wheel.

From how you're describing it, I think you're right on the money. My first impression for that would be to make sure all the wheels are balanced properly. If that's not it, I suppose it could be a wheel bearing - but very unlikely given how new it is. But who knows, maybe you've got a faulty one?

Even so, I don't blame you for not wanting to take it to the dealership. Some of us has horrible dealers nearby, like me. I don't dare bring my car in to them for anything, because I'd be worried they break something and/or make something worse.

Yeah, I've got complete threads on my crappy dealerships. They are incompetent and treat genesis owners like dirt for some reason. I have a couple case numbers on them from Genesis corporate but they've done nothing.

Unfortunately, I'll have to figure this problem out on my own which totally blows because one of the main reasons I bought the car was for the warranty and supposed Genesis owner experience...

I had something similar on a 10 year old BMW 328, audible "wobble" followed by marginal vibration depending on how "intense" the noise was. Verdict was improper tire wear on one tire only, caused by poor alignment and worn shock.

There is a slight vibration, but hear it mostly. I'm almost certain it's a wheel out of balance or out of round from a pothole. I'm taking it in on Thursday. Only have 1200 miles, so definitely not a wear issue.

And a more common occurrence nowadays thanks to the ubiquitous low profile tire.

Well, of course the dealership couldn't replicate the wobble... but they did order me a new seat motor because mine is grinding.

The stock contis are junk. Load rating is too low for the car.

Damn... Didn't even offer to rotate and balance the wheels? Do you think you'll take it to another dealer, or maybe even a tire shop?

No, they didnt suggest or offer to do anything. I ended up adding air to all the tires to 39 psi (warm). That helped, but I'm going to take it to a tire shop and have them check the balance at least.
