  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The audio control knob now only affects my navigation volume. In addition, when I adjust the volume the term "NAVI" appears in the header just to the left of the sound level readout. Does anyone know how to get the knob to control the media system sound?

I think yours is the same going from memory. This is from thr 2018 DIS manual
Navigation volume
Press [MENU] > [ Guidance Volume] to adjust
the volume.
• [ Navigation Volume]: Adjusts the
navigation volume.
• [Mute]: Sets the sound to mute.
• [Volume Priority]: Sets the volume
control to [Navigation Priority] or [Equal
Volumes].

I have the same issue. Happens randomly or when I use the nav /map feature. The audio know gets stuck only controlling the nav audio with no way to switch to the music volume. The only fix I have found is to eject the SD card and reinsert it after ending navigation. I hope this can be fixed or there is a patch.

I have been having same issue since last map update. 2015 Genesis 3.8 Ultimate. Only option is to drive without navigation SD.

This is what I’ve found so far. I have muted the Navi on both the voice and sounds from the Navi volume menu. The issue hasn’t reappeared since then. Before I muted the volumes I found I could push and hold the av volume button on the dash to bring up the screen saver and push the button again to bring the system back online and the audio knob would control the audio like normal.

I have used the map navigation a few times since and so far have not had the volume only controlling the Navi issue, perhaps because I have it muted.

Side note I have noticed I never had the sound actually play for the Navi voice or tone prompts, even with their volumes turned up. Like that data is not present.

I spoke with someone from Hyundai tech support. They are aware of the glitch with the volume only controlling the NAV after updating. There is no fix currently for it other than what someone mentioned above, which can be random at times. He mentioned it probably wouldn't be addressed until the next map update which sucks!
