  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi all,

I'm looking to get auto dimming outside mirrors for my 2010 3.8 tech/premium Genesis. I know this is standard on the V8 models but is it possible to get them for the V6? Is there a size difference in the V8 mirror vs. V6?....I would think the wiring is already there since the mirrors are heated but not 100% sure.

Thanks for the feedback :)

I doubt that it is just a plug-in option.
You may also want to reconsider if you drove a car with them. I have them on my 2012 and I really don't like them. The auto-dimming makes some sense for the interior rear view mirror, but I find that it ruins the useful visibility of the door mirrors and makes it very hard to judge distances at night once they are in dim mode - which they nearly always are if there is traffic behind.

In city I always keep it in the off position for the rear-view so I have maximum visibility but on the highway some people's headlights hitting the side mirrors is ultra bright and very annoying. I just thought they might be nice to have when on the highway and not constantly shifting lanes. Thanks for the info it's truly appreciated :)

gameday22, did you ever get a answer on this? I'd like the option to do this as well.

my 2010 dims the outside and rear view mirrors. I also have both the tech and premium packages.
