  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all, I'm a new member to this forum and am very grateful that it's here for us all. I very recently acquired a 2011 Hyundai Equus signature one owner with 28k on it. I'm beyond thrilled with it. I have what I'm sure is a dumb question (as I'm in the car business). When I first started driving the car the outside mirrors would fold in when I shut the car off with the start/stop button and then fold out when I started the engine. Well either I or my technician at work changed something and now I have to use the remote or the switch on the driver's control pad. I've scoured the manual but can't find any info on how to set it back. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you!

Interesting, I've only had mine a month or so and I've never had them automatically fold out. I always have to do it manually. If there is a way to make it happen automatically I'm interested!

not sure about your year but the 14-16 you hit the mirror button on the drivers side panel. that controls it

Thank you for your response Bruce, I appreciate it! I am able to make the mirrors fold and unfold with the switch on the driver's control just fine as well as make them fold by hitting the remote's lock function twice to fold. I'm just not able to find how to reset back to folding when shutting of the ignition and unfolding when I start the car. Nothing in the owner's manual. Even called dealerships. No right answer yet.
Any help is appreciated.

Answer is simple. You can't. Only when you lock/unlock the doors.

The side view mirror can be folded or
unfolded by pressing the switch
when:
Left (1) : The mirror will unfold.
Right (2) : The mirror will fold.
Center (AUTO) :
The mirror will fold or unfold automatically
as follows:
- The door is locked or unlocked by
the smart key.
- The door is locked or unlocked by the
button on the outside door handle.

The mirror will unfold when you
approach the vehicle (all doors
closed and locked) with a smart key
in possession. (if equipped

oh ok I see, in my car they are unfolding as I aproach the car, I have never had the ability to shut of the engine and they fold while im sitting in the car unless i hit the button.

Thanks EdP I appreciate the info. I'll see if I can get them to work with the door button and when I approach the car as well as the remote and door switch. Mine's a 2011 and it may not have some of the features the newer one do.
Thanks again!
