If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello Folks,

My favorite feature is probably the Auto-Hold. This allows me to relax the leg at every red light and be distracted with something like phone messages, nav, music, various other buttons in the car.

Is this appropriate use of the auto-hold? Am I gonna brake something when using it at all times? Thanks for any feedback.

Nope. No issues, I love this feature for that same reason and have been using it since September 2014.

I used to not like this feature but am finding I am using it more and more, especially in stop/go traffic. It does take some getting used to (at least for me).

I don't care for it because I find that, while I can relax my foot at a stop light, I have to move my whole leg over to the gas pedal when it's time to go, rather than just pivot off my heel. Which is why I often don't get the pressure on the gas just right and I either over rev or take longer to get going.

Now I do like the adaptive cruise control, especially in traffic. This is when my leg gets worn out the most. With the ACC I can just use my finger to get started.

I also like the ACC, but wish it was a little more smooth while accelerating. It's also sort of a two edged sword since you always have to be ready to take control especially if someone changes lanes quickly in front of you.

Yeah acc could definitely be smoother at least if you are in eco mode it should accelerate much slower and stay in the top gear...the mb s class is much better in these regards.

It will stay in gear and accelerate slower and can read cars meeting into your lane much better and will slow down immediately so you don't have to slam on brakes. Also it reads the lines better and stays mostly in the middle of the lane unlike my car.

Does anyone else have a problem on the car hugging the lines and actually crosses over them before correcting? Sometimes it does this and sometimes it works perfectly fine and yes my settings is pre departure

To me it seems like it likes 4 lane highway that has fresh paint with about 3 feet of paved shoulder. If it doesn't meet the criteria I don't show off my no hands since i risk looking like a fool to my friends lol. Which isnt on op topic but just my 2 cents.

As mentioned - nope! No problem at all. I also love this feature...

That's cool guys. I find the Auto-Hold feature a great advantage when hot rodding from dead stops as your eager foot is already on the gas pedal itching to launch!! probably a half second shaved off 0-60 haha.

Haha. I've always wanted to try that but figured the car would EXPLODE if I did. So that really works, huh? It's THAT quick to release? If so - that's awesome...

One of my favorite features, and is sorely missed on my 2nd vehicle for sure!

Had it in my last three cars and I use it a lot.

:D ROFLMAO :D

Sometimes I drive this thing like a lease car and forgetting it's for keeps.

Also, with auto-hold working and your lazy leg resting. I had someone checked to make sure the brake lights stay lit, just for peace of mind so some idiot don't come plowing into my rear end.

Yes, that brake light does stay lit. That's a good thing. :D

Can't believe no one else caught this. :)

As a matter of fact - you will BRAKE the car! :D

But no - you will no break anything. It is no different than you holding your foot on the brake.

You mean "you will not break anything" or did you mean no? lol People dont like to comment on the many spelling and grammar mistakes online because we already know that it was either a mistake or they just didnt pay attention in school during english class.

Also as I already found one mistake from you trying to correct someone elses mistake...im sure if I looked I can find other spelling or grammar mistakes from you.

Drat! Foiled again! :)

LOL

Actually. This was humorous because of the word "brake" in this particular situation. Like - pun intended. Sorta. :)

that was my intent with my reply. he asked he would brake anything by using it... and yes - he would indeed brake the car. the entire car. :D
